This methodology identifies and manages risk and, when central to an active food safety programme, it can provide vendors, the public and government sector bodies with a high degree of comfort that food safety is being taken seriously and is well-managed.
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
Good Manufacturing Practices is about making sure the products supplied in Australia are safe, reliable, and effective for their intended purposes. The system consists of processes, procedures and documentation that ensures manufacturing products, such as food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical goods, are consistently produced and controlled according to set quality standards. GMP protects both the company and the consumer from negative food safety events, cutting down on waste, losses, avoiding recalls, seizures, fines, and even jail time. Manufacturers can ensure this by using consistent manufacturing processes, with adequate supervision, and with an effective quality control process.

Retailers, brand owners, and food service providers around the world utilise the SQF program.
