Meet Crystal – Owner of OMG! Decadent Donuts North Tasmania

My name is Crystal, and I am the proud owner of OMG! Decadent Donuts North Tasmania.

I first discovered these delicious donuts during a family trip to the Gold Coast in November 2022. At the time, my children were 10 and 12 years old. My eldest has Coeliac Disease, and my youngest is gluten intolerant (while not formally diagnosed, there’s a good chance she is coeliac too).

When they realised they could actually eat these donuts, the look on their faces was pure joy. Watching them tuck in with excitement made it clear that these treats weren’t just gluten free—they were genuinely delicious. Even my husband was amazed and questioned whether they could really be gluten free because they tasted so good!

Over the past three years, I’ve heard that same reaction from countless customers, and it never gets old.

What started as a joke in the car on Boxing Day 2022 soon had me thinking, “Why not look into it and see what the possibilities are?” I reached out to learn more about becoming a licensee and, once I received the information, I simply couldn’t stop thinking about the opportunity and where it could lead.

I’m excited to say that in May 2023, I took the plunge and brought OMG! Decadent Donuts to North Tasmania. Since then, it has been an incredible adventure.

We’ve grown along the way and now have our very own fancy little trailer, which makes life much easier—especially during those chilly Tasmanian winters when we no longer have to worry about the wind blowing our setup away!

We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from our community and are excited to see what the future holds.
