OMG! Decadent Donuts Baw Baw is operated by Christie and Christian to help raise funds for the Willow Rose Foundation for Diabetes, a charity which subsidises access to insulin pump therapy, empowerment classes and helping families obtain gluten free hypo kits.  This is their story…

As a result of our lived experience with our daughter being diagnosed at the age of 2 with Type 1 Diabetes and then at the age of 5 with Coeliac Disease, we founded the Willow Rose Foundation as a way to help individuals and their families living with both diabetes and Coeliac disease. We know all too well how expensive both of these diseases can be and the stress it puts on a family.

Type 1 Diabetes and Coeliac Disease are two of the most recognised autoimmune disorders and unfortunately are a combination that go hand in hand as they share a common genetic background that’s been found in the DQ2 & DQ8 molecules. Coeliac Disease is more common in people who have Type 1 Diabetes.

Again, from a lived experience, we know exactly what you’re thinking…Donuts, Diabetes and Coeliac don’t go, but why not! Why should someone have to miss out because they are diabetic, coeliac, vegan or have an allergy eggs or nuts. OMG! Donuts represents a fun AND inclusive product.

We remember the first time our whole family got to try OMG! Donuts back in 2022.  All five of us knew in that moment we had to be a part of the OMG! family.  We saw Willows face light up as she bit in to her donut, it said a thousand words.  You could see in a second as she got to experience the same delicious treat as her siblings and parents – the most amazing warm fluffy donut with flavours that melt in your mouth, something she had never experienced before.

How could we ever say no and why should our little girl miss out just because she’s a Type 1 Diabetic and Coeliac. It’s all about moderation and enjoying simple pleasures.

Now we love making our vegan and gluten free light, fluffy donuts dusted in sugars made from Australian fruit, spices and even vegetables to share with our Baw Baw community.

Accredited by Coeliac Australia, and certified Vegan, Halal and Kosher, these donuts are an inclusive treat which even those with dietary requirements due to allergies, intolerances, culture or beliefs can enjoy and feel included.
